Vale Aistair Duncan
The Club has lost a Life Member with the passing this month of Alistair Duncan.
Our condolences are extended to Alistair’s wife Ailsa and his family on their loss.
Alistair joined the Club in 1977 and gained his first aid and radio qualifications. While an active lifesaver, and sometime First Aid Officer, Alistair’s greater contribution was to the administration of the Surf Club and the Supporters’ Club.
First elected Secretary of the Club in 1980 and held this position for six years. He was then elected to the position of Treasurer, which he held for a period of six months until a serious car accident obliged him to relinquish the position.
He was also the Club's Deputy President for four years serving under Presidents Paul Williams and Geoff Bacon. He was the Surf Club' representative on the Executive Committee of the Supporter's Club for three years; was the Secretary and Chairman [1995 – 1996] of that Club during which time great improvements took place.
Alistair was elected to Life Membership of the Club in June 1995.
A retired senior public servant, Alistair was 92 years of age when he died.
A Funeral Service will be held at 9:00m on Friday 14 June 2019 at the Chapel at Gregson & Weight, 5 Gregson Place, Caloundra.
